I'm not sure too many people will read this, and those that do probably know us, but here's who we are! Joseph and I (I'm Katie by the way) got married on January 24, 2012. We decided to do things slightly unconventional and we eloped! Joseph is a volunteer firefighter, so we got married at the station he volunteers at. He is the most amazing man I have ever met. He loves the Lord so much and I couldn't ask for more than that.
What have we been up to lately? After we got married, Joseph moved into my apartment with me. It wasn't a big apartment, but it was home. However, we wanted to buy a house! So we began house hunting. Nothing felt right, and we knew that God would let us know when it was. After much disappointment, and a lot of searching, we realized there wasn't a house that spoke to us. I think I cried for about a day and then realized, ok, time to buck up and make a decision. Joseph and I prayed and prayed about what to do and then both our parents discussed the possibility of us moving in with them. After lots of discussion, we settled on moving in with my in-laws (yes, please take a moment to have a shocked face). My parents have sweetly agreed to store the bagillions of boxes that we will have, as well as the extra furniture that we can't take with us.
This is the before picture of the room! :) Well, not quite before - we had already began cleaning stuff out! As soon as I get more pictures on my camera of the during, and the after I will upload them!
Where does that leave us now? We are beginning to pack up the apartment. We decided it probably was best to begin by packing the things we won't need to take with us and don't need for the next three weeks. We have repainted Joseph's old bedroom and new carpet will be laid in hopefully the next week or so. I will try and post some pictures of all the progress. I can't guarantee I am the most interesting writer, nor am I terribly funny. But I do hope that you enjoy reading and get a glimpse into the last few months of our first year of marriage and on into the second year.
Welcome to the blogosphere! Come on in! Good luck with the move. I'm looking forward to keeping up with you!
