One of the biggest things with Joseph and I, and grocery shopping, is we had to decide and set a budget for how much we wanted to spend a week on groceries. We have now been living in our home for 6 months and so far so good! If we are under we roll it into the next week and so on. Our weekly budget, for the two of us, is $50. That being said, today's grocery trip is over budget. There were several things that I felt were too good of a price to pass up on. So, here is today's trip and totals!
If you want a break down let me know and I will!
We went to publix and target (had a minor snafu but nothing terrible!)
$196 worth of groceries/personal products/dog food for only $59 before tax. This is why I coupon! I know it doesn't look like many meals but we break things down! :) the reason for all of the powerade? Joseph takes them to work and it is MUCH cheaper than if he goes to a gas station. Enjoy! ps we have meat in the freezer!

My couponing addiction!
I remember being a young girl and my mom cutting coupons and keeping them in this small yellow basket. She would then pull what she needed for her weekly grocery trip. I never thought much of It until I was older! My mom and sister both were couponing and shopping the deals and I remember thinking Hmmm that seems fairly neat. So when I finally moved out on my own, I wanted to make sure I could stick to my very well thought out budget! So I began to coupon. I found joy in it. Living on my own, I kept my grocery budget VERY small. Approximately $25/week. It worked for me. Fast forward a year or so. The moment Joseph and I decided to buy a house, there was no doubt in my mind! It was time to start back up. I bought the things I could before we moved and then as soon as we moved in it was game on! We decided that we would try living on a grocery budget of only $50 a week! I was unsure at first how it would go, especially with the price of food continuing to rise. But so far, 6 months in we average out $50 a week! Sure sometimes we go over but it balances out with the weeks we are way under.
All that being said, I coupon so we don't ever have to worry about it. If I know we are sticking with that budget we will, Lord willing, continue to be fine. We definitely do not go without. It just is nice knowing I'm not spending $100 and having no idea what I bought! Is it worth it? In my opinion, absolutely!
I am planning to start a small blog (when I get around to it) about couponing. I hope you will join me!
