3/28 grocery trip

One of the biggest things with Joseph and I, and grocery shopping,  is we had to decide and set a budget for how much we wanted to spend a week on groceries. We have now been living in our home for 6 months and so far so good! If we are under we roll it into the next week and so on. Our weekly budget, for the two of us, is $50. That being said, today's grocery trip is over budget. There were several things that I felt were too good of a price to pass up on. So, here is today's trip and totals!
If you want a break down let me know and I will!
We went to publix and target (had a minor snafu but nothing terrible!)
$196 worth of groceries/personal products/dog food for only $59 before tax. This is why I coupon! I know it doesn't look like many meals but we break things down! :) the reason for all of the powerade?  Joseph takes them to work and it is MUCH cheaper than if he goes to a gas station.  Enjoy! ps we have meat in the freezer!

My couponing addiction!

I remember being a young girl and my mom cutting coupons and keeping them in this small yellow basket. She would then pull what she needed for her weekly grocery trip. I never thought much of It until I was older! My mom and sister both were couponing and shopping the deals and I remember thinking Hmmm that seems fairly neat. So when I finally moved out on my own, I wanted to make sure I could stick to my very well thought out budget! So I began to coupon. I found joy in it. Living on my own, I kept my grocery budget VERY small. Approximately $25/week. It worked for me. Fast forward a year or so. The moment Joseph and I decided to buy a house, there was no doubt in my mind! It was time to start back up. I bought the things I could before we moved and then as soon as we moved in it was game on! We decided that we would try living on a grocery budget of only $50 a week! I was unsure at first how it would go, especially with the price of food continuing to rise. But so far, 6 months in we average out $50 a week! Sure sometimes we go over but it balances out with the weeks we are way under.
All that being said, I coupon so we don't ever have to worry about it. If I know we are sticking with that budget we will, Lord willing,  continue to be fine. We definitely do not go without.  It just is nice knowing I'm not spending $100 and having no idea what I bought!  Is it worth it? In my opinion, absolutely!
I am planning to start a small blog (when I get around to it) about couponing. I hope you will join me!

Disney Day 2!

I quickly realized that it Is good for me to blog these days because I will forget them faster then I mean to!
Sunday was a split day! The first half we went to Magic Kingdom again. Charlotte got to meet Snow White and Rapunzel (who does a FABULOUS job). We rode Dumbo, and the tea cups. Unfortunately,  do to my foot we move VERY slow and are not fitting in as much as we would like but we are definitely trying! We decided to eat lunch at Be our Guest before leaving the park. GREAT food and a fun experience (do it if you go!) Throughout the morning we met a few other characters as well - tons of fun! We came back and rested and then went to Epcot. First thing was Sorin (which I did not do but all the other adults did) so I got to hang out with Charlotte!  And of course I had to buy her a prize - Nala from the Lion King! We walked around a bit and went through the world showcase and headed to dinner. Via Napoli - we all had pizza and let me tell you....best pizza I have EVER eaten. We went and rode the Norway ride (blah) and then Mexico! We tried desserts from Norway, but they were less than impressionable! Day 1 was a success!

Why I do direct sales!

This June I will have been in direct sales for 3 years! 3 with Thirty-One and 1 with Mary & Martha! I never thought I really wanted to join anything until I contemplated being a Tupperware rep! But I never could convince myself that it was the best decision for me. Fast forward a bit and my now sister in law convinced me to sell Thirty-One. And two years later I joined Mary & Martha (even though people thought I was crazy!)
So why do I sell? It is so much more than selling to me. It is helping people make their lives more functional.  This journey started out as free products for myself! (And trust me I still get so much free! I rarely pay for anything). It then very quickly became about helping my loved ones earn free products. Then it turned into me making some of my best friends. I was put in situations where I HAD to get to know people and low and behold I made some of my closest friends. Then when we moved, the extra money has been able to go towards the extras we want or need. Ive had months where i made over $1000 and it came at a time when God knew we needed it. Now our dream is that one day we will be able to use one or both of these businesses to help me stay home. So far God has not chosen to bless me with a huge team or a promotion yet. Will He? I have no idea but I do know that until He tells me otherwise I will continue on. I would not change the past 2.5 years at all. I do not know what the future holds but I will gladly tell you that $99 can impact your life in ways that you can't imagine. Is it worth it? Absolutely. Would I do it again?  Ten times over.

Disney...Day 1

*Fair warning, I am mainly writing these for my own personal memories as opposed to anything else!*
Technically we left on Friday, but today was actually our first day in Disney! We are fortunate enough to be staying in the Wilderness Lodge! It is beautiful (and the rustic side of it even makes Joseph happy!) Our rooms were not available right away so we relaxed in the lobby while C walked around for a bit. The rooms were incredibly nice! Definitely had a lodge feel to them, but spacious. None of our rooms connected but we did have side by side rooms! We then started out our evening eating in the hotel at the whispering canyon cafe. If you ever eat there, one tip - don't ask for ketchup (we did not!) After freshening up it was Finally it was time to head Into the park. Up first?  Magic Kingdom!  Charlotte was in awe. This trip is also Josephs first time to get to go! We started out on It's a small world and then went to Enchanted Tales with Belle! Both C and J got to participate in the story! (Pictures to follow!) Finally we ended the evening with the Winnie the Pooh ride and Charlotte got to meet Mickey. Not only was he just Mickey but he was a TALKING Mickey.  Tonight was  MAGICAL, and it only is the beginning!! I will post pictures as i can!
